After reading some negative reviews, I was afraid I would only receive one volume. Both volumes arrived at my door SUPER fast. I was under the impression that two cd's came with this order, but it looks like only one cd is included with one of the volumes. I'm not going to worry about it as the ISBN # matches the one on my college bookstore list. The books came shrinkwrapped and in fabulous condition.Thought I would add to the good reviews here in case anyone else was in my former position and hesitant to order.Thanks, Amazon!

WARNING I wish I had read the reviews before buying the kindle version. I have purchased or rented e-books before and this is the worst yet. There are NO PAGE NUMBERS?!?!.!? Which is extremely important if you want to go along with the rest of the class. The page setup is horrible, in that the tables and images are patch worked onto the page and the font of the text is either much larger or much smaller. It is SOooo frustrating to have to click on EVERY SINGLE image to have a closer look at it. This book will make you hate all Ebooks if this is the first time purchasing one. Such a waste of money I really expected better considering this is for NUrsing Profession. Was it THAT hard to scan the pages of the book so that the reader can view an entire page at a time? They need to fire whoever was in charge of putting out this Ebook. I want my money back. Half a star..

We used this book extensively in three of the four semesters of my nursing program. Like most Med-Surg books, the writing can be a little dry, but once you know how to use this book, and when you get a feel for how your teacher uses the book when writing tests, it's very helpful. Each chapter/topic is set up in about the same way, so if you need, say, the nursing diagnoses associated with a particular disease process, it becomes easy to know where those are located in any given chapter. I had one teacher who seemed to base her tests entirely on the tables, illustrations and charts (not a big reader, I guess), and that made things a little easier. The care plans were fantastic and really helped me with my clinical paperwork.I initially purchased the previous edition (11), even though my school "required" the twelfth edition, and it was very, very similar in content (page numbers were different, but my teachers tended to assign by topic and made very minimal use of any of the expensive prepU online resources). I bought the twelfth when I was finally able to secure a very inexpensive used copy. I recommend buying previous editions for most classes after talking to your professor (or at the very least, students who've taken that class from them). Save money where you can.

I have really enjoyed having the new edition of this book on Kindle. The actual book is huge. I know they split the book into two books for easier use now, but the Kindle is great. I can use the Kindle on my PC and it makes it easy for me to zoom in to the words. This can be done on the Kindle device as well. This is by far the best Med-Surg book. I have several different kinds, but none of them give you the kind of info this one does.

bought this to do a review/refresher. so amazed at all the extras in it. Great book. Glad I spent the money on it.

Being in nursing school, your instructors are always giving you a list of books that may make the class easier, and none of them ever help; that is not the case with this book at all! This book is by far the best and easiest book I have ever used to study with, it puts things in the simplest terms and doesn't beat around the bush to give you the information. It is very well organized, and uses the nursing mindset to explain why things are important. I will be using this book long after I get out of school!

I'm the idiot who read the reviews for the e-book version, but got it anyway. I knew it wouldn't have page numbers, but I like e-books much more than actual books (especially for school textbooks).Unfortunately, this e-book sucks big time. No page numbers. I thought, oh well, it wouldn't be a big deal because we'd just have whole chapters assigned to read, but then we get our assignments and we have to read some full chapters, but other chapters are just page # to page #. And since this book has no page numbers, I have no idea where to begin and end my reading...so I am at a loss and no idea what to do with this crappy e-book.Can't this fixed and updated????? I feel like it would be a rather easy fix!!! This is absolute hell (not to mention I paid $121 for this and without the page numbers it should be worth half that, if not less!!!). I am going to have to look at someone's hard copy at school and write down the page numbers of the beginning of each chapter so that I can go through my e-book and count the pages until I get to the page(s) I need to read.This really needs to be fixed and updated, and I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet... This is not fair for those of us who paid $121.
